I absolutely can't say enough great things about both of our engagement shoots (fall and spring). Kendra Joy Photography made it a fun and enjoyable experience, and more importantly she LISTENED to what I wanted in my engagement photos. She never put her tastes before mine and still captured the emotional moments in our relationship in our pictures. Back in November, I was in an absolute panic about finding a wedding photographer for our destination west coast wedding. My fiance and I agreed that we would approach Kendra about flying her out to Washington State to be our wedding photographer because the additional costs were worth it to have her there to capture our special day. We are so fortunate that she is moving (unfortunate for DC brides) to Portland and can shoot our Labor Day Weekend wedding! In all of the wedding preparations, Kendra has been professional, timely, thorough, detailed, and most important!, cooperative with the cast of characters (family, wedding planners, venue owners, caterers, myself included) involved. I know that my big day will be in great hands!

Kendra is awesome! She made my fiance and I feel so comfortable during our engagement photo session. She was so easy to work with, so nice and very flexible. Everyone loved the pictures and we would love to work with her again!

I first met Kendra when I needed a photographer for my proposal. After my initial conversation with her, I knew she would capture the moments exactly the way I wanted! She was so easy to talk to, understood my vision, and was very flexible. So when the big day came around, she was so much fun to work with! She helped us pose, she captured our pose ideas, and we had a ton of fun during proposal! After the proposal, she was prompt and sent us some pics as a teaser and then sent us the rest of the pics within a short turn-around time. She's professional and very fun to work with. I would highly recommend her!

We had the very fortunate opportunity to nab Kendra on her way from Washington, DC to Portland for a family photo shoot in our new home of Walla Walla. When we were living back east, she had done our daughter's one-year old portraits in the US Capitol. This time, two kiddos out on the farm, throwing dirt, no less! This girl has got talent and range - I cannot rave about her enough! So thankful for the beautiful memories she has captured for us to date and the many more to come!!!

My contacting Kendra was based solely on her website and portfolio. We had a fabulous experience with Kendra based upon multiple factors. One, she is incredibly engaging with children, and my son loved her. Two, we had brought items with us, and she carried them for us so that she could take pictures of us "in movement" without any "baggage." No other photographer has ever done that for us (we take pictures every year). We have warm smiles in our photos because Kendra was very upbeat and funny. My profile photo is one of the pictures she took, and I love it! I would highly recommend her. Her pricing is excellent!

Kendra is amazing! She is not only an excellent photographer, but also a wonderful person to work with. She is flexible and creative during photo shoots and works hard to make sure she's getting the best shots possible. She photographed several of our family shoots as well as a newborn photo shoot. Though she's not specifically a newborn photographer, she took better photos than the (exclusively) newborn photographer did with our first baby. I can't recommend Kendra highly enough - DC's loss is Oregon's gain!

I hired Kendra to shoot my wedding in July 2012. Not only did she create the beautiful images that we'll cherish for the rest of our lives, but her wonderful attitude and her friendly disposition actually helped our day run smoothly and successfully.

Kendra is extremely professional: she was prompt, and was sure to ask us important questions about the types of shots that we wanted in order to produce a product we were both happy with. She did all this without losing a friendly vibe, and she moved through our wedding ceremony and reception with such ease that, far from being intrusive, she was more like another guest at the wedding.

She made my husband and I feel completely at ease when doing portrait shots - something neither of us had done before, and got us to smile and laugh throughout. It was the same with our family and other guests.

The final images were stunning, and really captured us as a couple, as well as the excitement and celebratory mood of the whole day.

In short, I highly recommend Kendra for any photography needs! She is a people person and an artist. My friends and family are still raving about her photos two years later.

Kendra did an amazing job photographing the baby shower I threw for my brother and sister-in-law. She was prompt and captured the celebration perfectly. If you have any special occasions you want to be documented Kendra is the person to call. I was able to sit back and enjoy the party knowing she was capturing all the moments beautifully. And I got the prints back almost instantly. Thanks Kendra!

I spent a wonderful morning with Kendra and finally got a set of great photographs that made me feel really good about myself. The ones I liked best turned into Christmas presents for family and friends, who still tell me how much they love the photos. As someone who believes that "the camera hates me," Kendra made it fun, easy, relaxed and natural -- and it showed in all the photos.

When my sister got married several years ago, I remember how disappointed she was with her photographer. It was an impersonal experience, and it showed with lackluster photos that were easily bested by guest photos. So when my time to get married came up, I knew how critical it was to get not just a good photographer, but a good person as well.

I think it tells the story best that I go through almost every single one of my wedding pictures once a month. My wife and I can't get enough of them, and it's always a nice pick-me-up. Honestly, with photos like these, I don't think an unsuccessful marriage is an option, because it would be too insulting to the photos.

Kendra even did special requests, making sure to get pics of my dad chewing on food. Highly recommended!
